Warm Winter Wishes

Okay, don't hate me because I did this, but I started my Christmas cards last weekend! I personalized the snowflake from Merry Little Christmas from JustRite Stampers. I had to use the snowflake on this year's cards because we are both snowmobiling now. Since I had all the letters in place on the 2" wooden stamper, I stamped out enough for this year's cards.

I cut out the 2" circle with the circle nestabilities, added a layer slightly bigger and mounted both onto a scalloped circle. Then I used the Impressabilities Snowflake to make the embossed background onto Soft Sky cardstock. I sponged it using Blue Bayou ink. Then I felt that it needed something else but I wanted to be sure that I would have enough supplies to replicate this on the rest of the cards. So I dug through my supplies and I found these SU Snowflake die cuts that my stamping friend Mary sent to me a while ago. Perfect! Then I added a small pearl to the center of the snowflake and viola, it's done!

Supplies:
Paper: PTI White, GP White, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou
Ink: Blue Bayou
Accessories: Sponge, Cuttlebug, Impressabilities - Snowflake, Circle Nestabilities (Classic & Scallop), Adhesive Pearl

Cuttlebug Embossing Folders vs. Spellbinders Impressabilities

This is my second posting for today. Please scroll down to see the first one!

I made a suggestion to my LSS, Life's Memories and More, to start carrying Spellbinders Impressabilities. She already carries Nestabilities and these Impressabilities are great! So I offered to make samples for her store to show her customers the difference between them and the Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Here is a card using the Cuttlebug embossing folder:

I used Textile Texture because the store owner, Tanya, likes this folder but has a difficult time using it.

Here is a close up for you to see the texture:

Now, here is the same card in a different color using the Spellbinders Impressabilities:

I used the Flower one as this background. When I ran it through my Cuttlebug I used this sandwich:

Plate A, Plate C, Impressabilities Template, Cardstock, Embossing Mat, Plate B

This was a little too thick and I was afraid that I was going to break off the handle. I think that next time I will replace the Plate C with another Plate B and shim it if necessary.

Here is a close up on this card:

I hope that I was able to show you the difference in the textures of these two products!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Unity - Fresh Beginnings (April 2009 KOM)
Paper and Ink: Rose Red (1st Card) and Apricot Appeal (2nd Card)

Butterflies

I had fun making this card! I sponged ink over the Spellbinder's Impressabilites Butterfly using it as a stencil. I really like these! I am going to have to buy more of them. I cannot wait to see the results when I run it through the Cuttlebug.

Supplies:
Paper: PTI White, PTI Soft Stone, PTI Berry Sorbet, GP White
Ink: PTI Berry Sorbet
